Some Hotels Stay Independent After Leaving a Major Brand

On Orlando's International Drive, a phenomenon has been happening - more and more hotels that left major hotel brands due to economic concerns are finding success staying independent, even as the economy rebounds.  These hotels, which went independent to avoid paying franchise fees to a major hotel brand, have discovered that by using the internet and by exploiting the flexibility of not being part of a franchise, they can stay competitive against the big names.
